Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha/Moshi → Tarangire National Park
Depart at 7:00 AM from Arusha and drive to Tarangire, famed for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Explore the park’s wildlife-rich riverbanks where giraffes and zebras gather to drink. Game drive to spot lions, wildebeest, antelopes, and the Maasai ostrich. Picnic lunch inside the park. Evening transfer to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Tarangire → Serengeti National Park
Start early (6:00 AM) with a morning game drive to catch predators in action. Return to camp for breakfast and checkout. Proceed with your transfer to Serengeti with a packed lunch. Arrive in the late afternoon and check in to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti
Spend the day exploring central Serengeti, home to lions, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, elands, and more. If lucky, you may spot a black rhino. Picnic lunch en route. Continue game driving until late afternoon before returning to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Full-Day Game Drive in Ndutu Plains
Head to Ndutu for a full-day safari. During the migration season, witness thousands of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, along with predators such as lions and cheetahs following the herds. Picnic lunch in the bush before continuing game viewing. Evening return to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Serengeti/Ngorongoro → Olduvai Gorge → Ngorongoro
After breakfast, depart Serengeti and visit Olduvai Gorge, an important archaeological site where early human fossils were discovered. Explore the museum and learn about human origins. Continue the journey with lunch en route, arriving at Ngorongoro in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge on the crater rim.
Day 6: Full-Day Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to an unparalleled density of wildlife. Spot the Big Five, herds of wildebeest, buffalos, jackals, and flamingos on the crater lakes. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the crater before ascending in the afternoon. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Ngorongoro → Empakai Crater → Arusha
After breakfast, drive to Empakai Crater, a hidden gem with spectacular scenery and an alkaline lake frequented by flamingos. Enjoy a guided walk along the crater rim or descend for a closer view of the lake. Picnic lunch in the area. Later, begin your drive back to Arusha for drop-off at your hotel or airport.
